IQNA – A forum was held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, to discuss countering Islamophobia in the world.

Islamabad Forum Stresses Muslim World Unity to Confront Islamophobia   

 

The ambassadors of Iran and Turkey to Pakistan as well as a number of personalities and top diplomats from the host country took part at the forum.

They underlined the need for cohesion and unity in the Muslim world to confront Islamophobia.

The participants in the forum also hailed the United Nations’ move to name a day in the year as the International Day to Combat Islamophobia.

They described it as a turning point in Muslim countries’ effort to fight the phenomenon.

The Iranian, Turkish and Pakistani diplomats said the systematic use of Islamophobia against Muslims has turned it into a kind of racist behavior, including what the world is witnessing in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli regime’s genocide there.

The secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in a video message to the forum emphasized the OIC member states’ commitment to countering Islamophobia in the West.
